Lisa Favazzo

Single-use plastic were widely used at the normally environmentally conscious RMIT University’s clubs week this month.

Thousands of bags and other promotional items made of plastic were handed out to students by club representatives through the week.

RMIT University funded the production of most of the wasteful items.

The University’s website states they are “committed to the practice of incorporating sustainability principles and practise into learning and teaching, research and operational activities.”
